Workshop Overview

The Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop is a five-day professional development event that uses forests and natural resources as a window to environmental education. Participants engage in activities led by foresters, biologists, educators, and industry professionals. This interdisciplinary workshop focuses on the environmental, economic, and social benefits of Georgia’s forestry and wildlife communities.

Team

The Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop is hosted annually by the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) and Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildlife Resources Division. These two agencies are backed by a committee that represents the forestry and natural resources industry, as well as educators and universities. This committee plans and implements the Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop with the assistance of other partnering agencies and organizations across the state. The Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop is also supported by the Georgia Forestry Foundation, which serves as the program’s fiscal agent.
